GRAVITY ECP-G5 Compo - The new lightness of good sound
GRAVITY is the latest embodiment of our quest for perfection - experience a great sound experience with the EMPHASER ECP-G5 2-way component speaker.
The woofer
The new CRYSTALGRAIN compound cone is responsible for the warmth of the GRAVITY sound. It combines the high rigidity and damping effect of paper with the direct step response of the quartz crystals attached to the top. The cone thickness is chosen to provide the stability for heavy bass attacks and the necessary lightness for precise mids. The durable surround ensures that the ECP-G5 loses none of its precise reproduction even at high levels and therefore high cone excursions. The Compos owe their clean, crisp bass foundation and level capabilities to the powerful strontium ferrite magnets of the mid/woofer.
The carefully selected components are supported by the minimalistically designed EMPHASER FlowMax die-cast aluminum basket. The very open construction with its filigree struts gives the sound emitted from the rear maximum freedom and a minimum of unwanted reflective surfaces that affect the sound. And despite its filigree design, the construction offers maximum stability. Another innovation is the new EMPHASER screw terminal: although very solid, it takes up very little space and ensures reliable signal transmission thanks to the force-fit connection using solid hexagon screws and gold-plated contact surfaces.
The tweeter
The 25 mm tweeter with fabric dome convinces with its warm sound image and can reproduce even the smallest music details. The diaphragm geometry provides a uniform directional characteristic for excellent sound under a wide variety of installation situations. In addition to the low weight of the diaphragm, surround and voice coil, the deliberate decision not to use ferrofluid is primarily responsible for the fact that the tweeter plays so vividly, spatially and without coloration. The protective grille with its very large aperture area offers high sound transmission and low reflections. The supplied surface-mount housing allows mounting in two different radiation angles for a perfect fit to the vehicle acoustics.
The crossover
The components of the crossovers have been defined in intensive test series in the laboratory and in various vehicles to achieve the best possible phasing of the components with the smallest footprint. The result is authentic voices and instruments along with precise stage imaging and impressive spatial depth. The crossovers are divided into a high-frequency and a low-frequency branch. This allows easy installation directly at the point of installation without having to lay new cables across the vehicle.
