RADICAL GPS navigation by Ndrive
The modern offline navigation is suitable for all vehicle-specific RADICAL car radios, except for the models R-D211, R-D210 and R-D111.
The "RADICAL GPS by Ndrive" navigation package R-MAPC10 is preinstalled on every vehicle-specific RADICAL Android car radio in the NAND flash memory. If you want to use the RADICAL GPS navigation software, you can do this by purchasing the R-MAPC10 package. The package contains a serial number for activating the navigation software and a printed operating manual. The RADICAL GPS navigation software is a version specially adapted for the RADICAL Android car radios and uses digitilized offline map material from the provider "Open Street Map" – map material that was subsequently expanded and supplemented.
The map data used by RADICAL differs from the free OSM map data by greater accuracy and numerous additional data. The map data contained in the RADICAL GPS app cover 47 European countries. Included in the package is an in-app update function to keep the cards up to date for 3 years free of charge. The navigation package RADICAL GPS offers GPS time-base controlled switching of day/night mode map view, as well as display of streets with 3-D buildings and a selectable orientation of the map view – e.g. freely rotating in the driving direction or fixed orientation to the north, respectively. The clear presentation, reduced to the essentials, helps to visually relieve the driver. However, the active route including the surrounding area is always clearly presented as a whole.
Many additional functions allow easy orientation in complex driving situations, e.g. the display of the highway lane to be selected, the speed warnings when exceeding the maximum speed and the compass icon display. The route information provides information about the remaining distance in kilometers, the remaining driving distance in minutes and the arrival time. The modern system architecture is also evident in the One Box destination input function. The entry accepts free text, similar to internet search engines. This means that the input of an address is no longer tied to a predefined sequence (such as country, city, street, etc.). The operation of the map section via the multi-touch display of the RADICAL devices is also up to date.
With two fingers you can move the current map section in all directions, turn it or zoom in and out with a "pinch". If you want to stop on the way to refuel, shop, park, eat and drink, you can use the "Explore surrounding" or "Nearby places" function to have suitable destinations suggested. A speed camera warning app for various Western European countries (3 years free update) rounds off the package and also ensures relaxed driving.
